“Worldwide solidarity sports race against polio, organized by Rotary Clubs. Rotary has been working continuously since 1985 to eradicate this disease and is very close to achieving the goal of eradicating it worldwide.”
With your help, we can eradicate polio.
What is polio?
It is a highly infectious disease that causes lifelong paralysis and potentially death.
It generally affects children under the age of five.
Only two countries are considered endemic: Afghanistan and Pakistan.
More than 2.5 billion children worldwide have been vaccinated
The number of cases has been reduced by more than 99.9%.
Rotary Burgos has promoted a chair at the University for the study of polio sequelae. (read more)
